Officials with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department have confirmed that the suspect is dead.

This comes after Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies responded to initiate a court order along Highway 67 and Turan Road around 6:30 PM Wednesday night. Once they arrived the suspect fired shots at officers before barricading himself inside a shed-like structure.

No deputies were injured and the suspect barricaded himself inside the structure for several hours.
