Police Led on High Speed Chase
The search is on for a person who led Biloxi police on a high speed chase down Highway 90 this morning.
Shortly after 9 a.m., a traffic officer pulled over a red Lincoln Town Car for speeding. When the officer got out of his car to approach the driver, he fled. Police say he was heading down Highway 90 towards Gulfport at speeds reaching up to 100 miles an hour. At that point, the police department called off the pursuit because of safety reasons. The vehicle was later found in Gulfport but the driver was nowhere to be found. Captain Steve Patterson with Biloxi PD said, “Gulfport Police Department recovered it for us at some apartments inside Gulfport city limits. The investigation is still going on but we have a pretty good idea through the investigation who the driver was and warrants will be coming.”
