Police investigating fatal shooting in Moss Point

Moss Point police are investigating a shooting on Ruby Street last night that left a man dead.

Police Chief Brandon Ashley says officers were initially sent out on a call about a possible home invasion on Ruby Street around 11:45 p.m.

Investigators believe it started as a home invasion, but when the suspects failed to gain entry, they fired a rifle through the door, fatally wounding the victim. The victim has since been identified as 28-year-old Kevin Harvey.

Police believe there were at least two, possibly three suspects, who had their faces covered.
