Police investigating deadly shooting in Moss Point

Moss Point police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened earlier this afternoon.

Moss Point Police Chief Brandon Ashley tells us police received a call about a shooting on Joseph Avenue.

Police found a man dead in a vehicle once they arrived on that scene.

That victim has been identified by Jackson County Coroner Bruce Lynd Jr. as 24-year-old Mario Applewhite Jr.

No one has been taken into custody at this hour and detectives are still at the scene combing through evidence.
