Playing in Flood Waters

As the sun came out and all threats of danger were gone, residents began taking advantage of the remaining flood waters.
Those living on Oak Lane Drive in the Pebble Creek neighborhood walked outside and began wading, driving and even swimming in the water that covered their street. Some kids even brought out inflatable boats and inner tubes to ride along in.
Resident Kathy Keppard sat on her front porch taking pictures of the children who she says braved the cold water. “Oh, it’s fun watching them because I’ve been recording myself and I like to see it because they’re having fun. You know, it’s a lot of adult kids out here too doing the same thing. They’re all safe and having fun.”
Keppard also tells News 25 her neighborhood typically floods when it rains but this is the highest she’s ever seen it rise. The water depth was around 4 feet.
