Play of the Day: Stone’s Gehrig Conard throws no-hitter
Today’s WXXV Play of the Day is actually from Monday, but it’s worth the wait, no video of it, but this file footage pretty much tells the whole story.
Stone ace pitcher Gehrig Conard throwing his first no-hitter of the season, striking out 17 in the process.
The South Alabama signee now third in the country in punchouts with 60 of his 69 coming via the strikeout.
On top of all that, Stone High School announced today the Tomcats will honor his late father, former Athletic Director Kevin Conard, by renaming the field after him on Saturday, March 26th at 11:15 a.m.
