Plant It Pink Ocean Springs

Today the Ocean Springs Garden Club planted pink flowers with an important message.
The ladies of the club placed the pink snapdragons in the shape of a ribbon for breast cancer awareness. The flowers are outside of the Singing River Imaging Center off Highway 90.
This is a huge message for women who drive by: it is never too early to get a mammogram.
Ocean Springs Garden Club Co-President Lynda Brokl said, “If you’re not detected early and then that’s when the major issues come maybe too late. Early detection is the key. That’s why we encourage women to have their regular mammograms and to do the self breast examinations and keep in touch with their doctors.”
The Ocean Springs Garden Club has planted these pink flowers outside of the imaging center for the past five years.
