Plane makes unplanned stop at Gulfport Biloxi International Airport
HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Combat Readiness Training Center’s fire department was busy last Wednesday.
The emergency service received a call from their crash phone around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
A small plane had to land on the runway of the airport after their landing gears would not come down.
Fire officials saw no fire, smoke, or fuel on the ground. The plane itself landed and skidded 300 feet on the runway.
Those in the plane did not receive any injuries either.
Fire personnel used air bags to lift the aircraft to fold the landing gear down, the plane returned to full functionality afterwards.
Airport officials and the fire officials gathered information and the plane was able to complete its trip to Million Air.
