Pink Pearls to Save the Girls

They’re trading their combat boots and business tailored suits to rock the latest fashions on the runway. Women from all walks of life will be modeling at this weekend’s ‘Pink Pearls to Save the Girls’ fundraising event at the Scarlet Pearl Casino.

Breast cancer fighters and survivors are stepping up and taking the fight against this deadly disease to the runway this weekend at the Scarlet Pearl Casino’s third annual ‘Pink Pearls to Save the Girls’ fundraising event. As always, Dillard’s Department Store is making sure everyone is suited up properly. Scarlet Pearl Casino Executive Casino Host Karol Brandt said, “I’m really excited. I actually have a customer who is a survivor, who had a double mastectomy, so she won’t be able to attend so I’ll be walking in her honor.”

Brandt spent Monday morning putting the finishing touches on her runway ensemble.  It’s Brandt’s second time to rock the runway and a cause that hits close to home for Brandt and those at the Dillard’s Department Store. “My mother’s mother passed away of breast cancer when she was 54. Back in the ’60s they didn’t have chemo so she went through a few years of radiation, so we lost her when she was in her 50s.”

Dillard’s Area Sales Manager for cosmetics and fragrance Laine Crowe said, “We do a lot of outreaches with our lingerie department. We have a lot of survivors working here in store. They have family affected so it’s really important for us to be a support for that.”

You can get a front row seat to check out these outfits and others that will be modeled by 18 women in South Mississippi. The event is coming up this weekend at the Scarlet Pearl Casino in D’Iberville on Saturday. “Tickets are available. You can buy them at Scarlet Pearl Casino. We have them available at our gift shops. We still have seats available. I encourage you, put on your best dress, outfit, come out, and support this event. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Brandt.
