Pink Dress Run returns to Gulfport to fight breast cancer

The 5K Pink Dress Run is back in Gulfport and a large wave of pink is expected.

Registration for the run opens tomorrow at 8 a.m. at Chandeleur Island Brewing Company in Gulfport. The run will start promptly at 9 a.m.

As of today, about 300 people have registered to run the 5K and hundreds more are expected to join the festivities.

The event will host a ‘best dressed man in a pink dress’ contest which will give out $500 to the winner. New to this year is the ‘pink out your pet’ contest and karaoke.

Many other activities will be held after the run as well. Pink Dress Run Co-Founder Jourdan Derouen said, “Cancer doesn’t stop right. And survivors too, celebrating survivors is huge to us because I learned that lesson when we started having these events and you start to see these survivors come out and spend time with their family and feel beautiful and have a good time and laugh and cut up. It’s definitely an atmosphere that you just won’t forget.”

To register online now, visit the Pink Dress 5K/Walk website.
