Pierre Thomas recalls Super Bowl run

Headlining the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame weekend in Biloxi was former running back Pierre Thomas.

Prior to Friday’s Shuckers games versus the M-Braves, he received a special introduction as a future Hall of Famer.

A defining achievement for the former undrafted free agent who spent eight out of his nine NFL seasons with the Saints. Arguably his best year was 2009, the same year the Saints started 13-0 and later won a Super Bowl in 2010.

Thomas was an integral part of that run and it’s something he’s grown to appreciate even more recently with a little bit of help.  “I’ve been around legends who have played in the game before me but never got a chance to win a ring, like one of the legends is Dan Marino. I got a chance to be around him in a signing and he told me he’d give anything to go back and win a Super Bowl ring, and just to hear that from him and all the things he’s done is just an unbelievable feeling. It’s a positive message to say like I wish he did win it, but it’s just like thank you for saying that. You know what I mean? Cause it did take a lot.”

Joining Thomas in the Hall of Fame class of 2018 is another undrafted free agent former wide out Lance Moore, as well as Saints Director of Photography Michael C. Hebert.
