Picayune Street Festival draws Coast crowd
The Picayune Spring Street Festival drew a massive crowd to Pearl River County over the weekend, offering plenty to see and do.
The two-day festival showcased classic cars, food, and music as nearly 200 craftsmen sold their goods in the downtown area.
Along east and west Canal Street, droves of festival-goers flocked Picayune Main Street’s largest event of the year.
The block party also draws visitors from out of town to Picayune’s downtown stores, providing an economic boost for the city. Picayune Main Street Director Norman Howell said, “Lot of vendors here, selling anything from Christmas gifts, to birthday gifts, to something for your home. It’s bigger than — well the weather looked questionable this morning, but people are showing up. Tomorrow will be a phenomenal day. We’re looking for record crowds, a record turnout, and record sales for our vendors.”
This is Picayune’s 55th spring street festival.
