Picayune police searching for hit and run suspect

PICAYUNE, Miss. (WXXV)- The Picayune Police Department is looking for a suspect in a hit and run that took place over the weekend.

Around 10 p.m. Halloween night, officers responded to the incident on Highway 11 north near Carter Street.

The victim was riding a bike heading north when they were hit from behind.

The victim was taken to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg with serious injuries.

Detectives are searching for a dark grey Nissan car, that car turning onto Carter Street before leaving the scene.

The car will have heavy front end damage and is missing a plastic hub cap, side mirror, and the Nissan grill emblem.
