Picayune Police Department welcomes new bomb-sniffing K9

PICAYUNE, Miss. (WXXV)- The Picayune Police Department has just welcomed a bomb sniffing K9 to its ranks.

Meet Nitro, a 19-month-old British Labrador retriever.  Sgt. Chris Penton was selected to be Nitro’s handler.

The Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department donated a vehicle kennel to Picayune PD for the newest edition to the force.

Nitro was donated to the department by Clay Dossett at Prairie Plains British Labrador Kennels and trained out of Brewton, Alabama.
