Picayune man shoots into house after argument over cigarettes escalates

A Picayune man has been charged with shooting into a home in the Necaise community.

Sheriff Ricky Adam said Jared Ladner was charged with shooting into a dwelling. He was taken to Hancock County jail and bond was set at $25,000.

Adam said that on Sunday, deputies were sent to the Necaise community on a call about shots being fired.

An investigation revealed that an argument over cigarettes led to an exchange of gunfire, with an occupied home and a vehicle being hit by gunfire.

All firearms were seized as part of the investigation, which is ongoing.
