Phase one of beach storm water outfalls complete in Biloxi

All summer long you might have noticed some construction going on at Biloxi Beach. Now, that construction is cleared, we have some beautiful new additions to the beach.

To help reduce the number of pipes along the beach, three ‘wave shaped’ beach storm water outfalls were built.

Officials say the three outfalls will help provide a greater appeal to the beach and help eliminate a large number of outfall pipes which carry rainwater.

Charles Davis has been vacationing here on the Coast for the last 20 years and told News 25 the new outfalls were the first thing he noticed. “I think it looks pretty modern. At first when I first saw it, I thought it might have been a skateboard ramp.”

The concrete waves were paid for with funds from the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act.
