Peter Anderson Festival kicks off this weekend

The City of Ocean Springs is setting up for one of its major festivals this weekend.

For the 41st year, the Peter Anderson Arts and Crafts Festival will bring together over 450 arts and food vendors from across the country and over 100,000 attendees across two days.

Festival-goers will have the option to shop local in downtown Ocean Springs and buy a wide range of art from pottery to paintings and even jewelry.

Cynthia Sutton with the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce says the festival is an economic boom for the local community. “It is a huge economic driver for Ocean Springs. Whether it’s sustainability for our business community, whether it brings revenue by our artists, and by our local businesses, or that it is just good for families to be here and businesses to be a part of the community.”

The festival is hosted by the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce and presented by Blue Moon. Admission is free and the festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
