Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival award winners announced

(Ocean Springs) – Winners for the 45th Annual Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival presented by Blue Moon have been announced.

Every year, awards are given out to top exhibitors at the festival. Throughout the two-day event judges travel the show and evaluate the booths to honor individual artists or craftsmen’s work with one of the annual awards, “Best of Show”, “Peter Anderson Legacy Award”, “Award of Excellence”, “Award for the Creative Arts” and “Best Booth”.

This year’s recipients are as follows: This year’s “Best of Show” presented by Blue Moon went to Laurel Browning of Trussville, Alabama for her texted paintings.

The “Peter Anderson Legacy Award” was presented to Sam Clark of Madison, Mississippi for his sculpted characters. The “Award of Excellence” was given to Amy Fitzpatrick of Yellville, Arkansas for her silver, brass and copper sheet and wire jewelry and accessories.

The “Award for the Creative Arts” was given to Steve Meadows of Palestine, Illinois for his creatively carved metal faces. And, the best “Booth Award” was presented to Garland Farwell of York, Alabama for his wood and metal art.

The awards were presented to the individuals on Sunday afternoon of the festival.

Winners received plaques complete with Shearwater tiles and cash prizes. The items were displayed at the winners’ booths for the remainder of the afternoon.

The 45th Annual Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival presented by Blue Moon was held on Saturday, November 4, and Sunday, November 5 in downtown Ocean Springs.
