Pet of the Week: Mr. Parker is looking for a forever home

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV)- Today is Wednesday. It’s time to meet the WXXV Pet of the Week brought to you by the Generator Store of Pass Christian.

Mr. Parker is up for adoption at the Humane Society of South Mississippi.  He is a two-year-old terrier mix. He might be big, but he is loveable.

When it comes to adoptions from HSSM, Katie King tells us about a special program running through this Saturday. ‘The Heat is on’ special makes all HSSM pets adoptable for $25. “We’re currently housing over 400 animals in house with an additional 200 animals in foster homes. We’re extremely over capacity; We have plenty of pets like Mr. Parker looking for their forever families. We’re offering $25 adoptions. That includes spay/neuter surgery, a microchip, up to date on all preventatives and vaccines. Everything you need to bring home your new pet to your family. When you do adopt from an open-admissions animal shelter, you’re not only saving your new pet’s life but offering up much needed space for more animals to come in and receive the shelter and care that they need.”

The offer is open to dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. King says she encourages everyone to adopt and if they can’t, they should consider fostering.
