Pet Dog Saves Family in Home Invasion
A family pet is given credit for saving its family’s life during a home invasion.
According to the Gautier Police Department, around 5 a.m. Wednesday, a woman was entering her vehicle on Soundview Drive when she was struck in the head and pushed to the ground by three suspects.
The family dog then came to the rescue of its owner, but was shot by the suspect before they fled the scene. The three suspects fled immediately after assaulting the dog. The pet was transported to Gulf Coast Veterinarian Emergency Hospital where it was treated and later released. Although the pet was injured, he was able to keep the victim, her boyfriend and his 17-year-old child safe.
