NEW DETAILS: Suspect in Harrison County deputy-involved shooting dies

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The suspect in a deputy-involved shooting Thursday afternoon in a Harrison County neighborhood has died.
Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer tells WXXV that 42-year-old Fallas Williams died at an area hospital.
The shooting happened after deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance call on Five Oaks Drive, located just off of Robinson Road, at around 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, once on scene deputies located a vehicle believed to be involved with that disturbance call.
As a deputy approached, that’s when Williams allegedly attempted to hit the deputy with the vehicle, and the deputy then fired his gun at Williams.
The deputy did not sustain any serious physical injuries.
As with all officer or deputy involved shootings in Mississippi, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling this case.
