Person injured in officer-involved shooting in Harrison County

HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- An officer-involved shooting is under investigation in Harrison County.
According to Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley, deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance call on Five Oaks Drive, located just off of Robinson Road, at around 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, once on scene deputies located a vehicle believed to be involved. As a deputy approached, the subject allegedly attempted to strike the deputy with the vehicle.
The deputy discharged his weapon, striking the subject. The subject was transported to a nearby hospital.
The deputy did not sustain any serious physical injuries, and no other injuries were reported.
