In-person classes returning fall 2021 at University of Southern Mississippi
The University of Southern Mississippi announced the return of in-person face-to-face traditional learning in classrooms for the 2021 fall semester.
The safety of students and staff is their first priority. The decreased number of COVID cases on campus and within the state has motivated the university to get classes operating back to normal as possible
USM says they will continue to follow instruction of the CDC and leadership of Mississippi.
Students will be offered hybrid learning, similar to classes before the pandemic. USM VP of Student Affairs Dr. Dee Dee Anderson said, “We’ve worked really hard this year to keep our campus safe. Our students have been great partners with us and our faculty have been very creative and very innovative in offering online classes. We believe we’ve been successful in this format but we are ready for students to return to campus.”
USM is also prepared to go back to full virtual learning if COVID cases increase.
