Peoples Bank donates $11,453 to local charities
Employees of the Peoples Bank have raised over $11,000 and are donating it to several charities along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Each year since 1994, employees raise $100 or more and it’s given to the charity of their choice. This year, instead of choosing one charity, they chose the food pantries in Harrison, Hancock, Jackson, and Stone counties and they also chose the Bethesda Free Clinic in Ocean Springs.
Pam Morrison, an accounting officer tells News 25, it’s all about helping out the community. “It’s important that the employees get involved with our communities and by just the little bit that they raise each year it added up for the last since 1994 we raised close to $400,000 for our local charities. Every year that adds up.”
Morrison says this isn’t the only fundraiser they have. They also hold food drives, sell raffles, and even sell candy behind banking windows.
