Pedestrian transported to area hospital for treatment after being struck by train in Biloxi

On April 29, 2024 around 3:03 pm, Biloxi Police responded to the area of Benachi Avenue and the Railroad tracks for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a train.

Officers located an alert victim upon arrival, suffering from what appeared to be non-life-threating injuries. Pafford Emergency Services responded and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.

During the course of the investigation, witnesses reported seeing the victim walking on the tracks, as the trained neared while signaling.

The victim later appeared to make an attempt to clear the tracks, but was unable to do so in time, and was struck by the train.
