Pedestrian struck and killed on Hwy 90 in Waveland

On August 3, 2018 officers from the Waveland Police Department were dispatched to the area of Highway 90 east bound and Waveland Avenue for a vehicle versus pedestrian accident.

When officers arrived they spoke to the driver of 2003 Chevy Suburban. She stated that she was traveling east on Highway 90 when she saw the victim attempting to cross Highway 90 from the shopping center parking lot.  She attempted to avoid contact with the victim by going in to the median, but was unable to.

The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene by American Medical Response.  Hancock county corner Jim Faulk has not released the victim’s identity pending notification of the family.

Investigator Edward Hursey is in charge of the case which is still ongoing.
