Pedestrian struck and killed in Waveland

WAVELAND, Miss. (WXXV)- A pedestrian was struck and killed in the area of Highway 90 and Arnold Street in Waveland Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the area and found bystanders conducting CPR on the victim. Once on scene, officers took over CPR. Medical personnel arrived and began life-saving measures.

The victim, identified as 69-year-old Rob Adams, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle said she observed Adams attempting to cross the road. According to Waveland police, she stated she slowed down as he started running towards the passenger side of her vehicle at which time she passed him.

According to the driver, Adams attempted to stop in the middle of the road, he tripped and fell down into the trailer the driver was towing. Other witnesses on the scene tell law enforcement the same story.

An investigation was conducted of the accident. No charges will be filed against the driver.
