Pedestrian killed in late-night crash on HWY 57 in Gautier

GAUTIER, Miss. (WXXV) — A pedestrian was killed Monday night after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 57 near Robinson Still Road, according to the Gautier Police Department.

Officers responded to the crash at approximately 11:00 p.m. on April 28, 2026. Preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle traveling northbound struck a person who was in the roadway.

Emergency personnel with Acadian Ambulance Service attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The deceased is described as a white male believed to be between 50 and 60 years old. The Jackson County Coroner’s Office is working to positively identify the individual and notify next of kin.

Police say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The incident remains under investigation.
