Pedestrian killed on Highway 609 in Jackson County

A McHenry man is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Friday night.

Just before 9 p.m., 54-year-old Timothy Joseph Moran was walking in the left lane of Highway 609 where he was struck by a truck heading northbound.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead on scene from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seat belt.

The crash is still under investigation.
