Pearl River County School District holds discussion on active shooter events
PEARL RIVER COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- The Pearl River County School District’s Crisis Team met with first responders and directors from Highland Community Hospital for a roundtable discussion on active shooter events and the role each agency plays.
Agencies taking part in the discussion include the sheriff’s office, office of emergency services, the state bureau of investigation, and the Carriere Fire Department.
Officials with the school district say members of the district’s administration joined the discussion as well.
Campus Police Chief Brandon Herrin led the discussion and the day was full of conversation, collaboration, and a shared commitment for safety.
