Pearl River Community College baseball gearing up for World Series

POPLARVILLE, Miss. (WXXV) — Pearl River Community College baseball is heading back to Enid, Oklahoma, for the 2025 NJCAA Division II World Series this weekend.

The No. 2 overall seeded Wildcats will face either seventh-seeded Southeastern or tenth-seeded Kellogg on Sunday, May 25th, at 7 p.m. This comes after they claimed the Region 23 title this past Saturday with a 10-0 win over East Central.

Although there has been plenty of time to celebrate the regional victory, the team knows that the job is far from done.

PRCC is spending this week practicing, allowing for plenty of time to perfect their game plans and recover following a buys few weeks of postseason competition.

WXXV caught up with head coach Michael Avalon and student-athletes Max Miller, Jacob Johnson and Caston Thompson to discuss the importance of having some extra time to put in work.
