PCC Walk-a-Thon at the Biloxi VA honors person-centered care

The Biloxi VA was the site this morning for a Walk-a-Thon in honor of person-centered care.

The ninth annual event is to celebrate the progress made in making person-centered care a reality for veterans and families who use the VA.

Participants were asked to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness month or purple for domestic violence awareness.

The Hancock High band provided the entertainment, Schooner the Seagull from the Biloxi Shuckers was there, and our own morning co-anchor Grant Chighizola offered words of encouragement and motivation before the walkers took off. Nurse Practitioner Mandy Spiers said, “This is our person-centered campaign and not only is it a time to raise awareness for our patients and their families and visitors, but it is a time to have people come down and see the different services that we offer.”
