Patti Carr Black honored with Mississippi Writers Trail Marker

Jackson, Miss (WXXV)- A Mississippi Writers Trail marker was unveiled in honor of Patti Carr Black.

Black is a writer and historian born in Sumner.

The unveiling took place at the Old Capitol where she was the director of the Old Capitol Museum and a leader at the state’s Department of Archives and History.

She established the Mississippi Folklife Program that documents the state’s diverse cultural traditions.
