Pathways2Possibilities Career Expo kicks off at the Coast Coliseum

Thousands of students are partaking in Pathways2Possibilities at the Coast Coliseum Convention Center in Biloxi.

The event allows students to engage in an interactive, hands-on career exploration experience.

The two-day event allows students to browse hundreds of companies and community volunteer organizations to see what careers pique their interest.

The expo is geared toward eighth graders from public and private schools plus home school students.

After the eighth graders finish, older students ages 16-24 are invited to experience Pathways2Possibilities in a private session. Community Development Representative Ann Holland said, “Focusing on eighth graders gives us an opportunity to plant the seed. Some of these students are here and they are going to remember when they get to 9th, 10th, 11th grade and start taking those higher maths, those higher classes, the CTE classes that they offer at different schools. So here today, we hopefully just are going to plant that seed and remind them that energy is a career that they can fulfill their life with.”

Pathways2Possibilties started on the Coast in 2013. It has more hosted more than 100,000 students from across the state.
