Pass Christian track and field program hosts Cory McGee Classic
PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV) — The Pass Christian Pirates hosted the Cory McGee Classic on Saturday.
This annual track and field meet is named in honor of the Pass Christian graduate and Olympian, and if Saturday’s event was any indication, there’s some more Olympic hopefuls along the Coast.
Dozens of athletes across 13 schools competed in 19 events throughout the day, with plenty of individual and team victories to go around.
On the girls’ side, Pass Christian claimed first place as a team with 107 points, while St. Martin finished as the runner-up with 102 points. The Pirates would sweep the meet, as the boys team claimed first with 139 points. Gulfport finished in second with 124 points.
