Pass Christian takes big step towards first-ever district title with 4-2 win over Stone

WIGGINS, Miss. — Pass Christian took a big step forward in its quest for its first-ever district title Friday night, knocking off Region 8 Class 4A rival Stone in what started out as a pitcher’s duel between Southern Miss signee and former News 25 Student-Athlete of the Week Peyton Lacy for the Pirates and Conner Tice for the Tomcats. The visiting Pirates found a way to escape with a 4-2 win in the later innings, setting the stage for Tuesday’s rematch in Pass Christian.
