Pass Christian Library names children’s wing after longtime librarian

PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV)- The Pass Christian Library marked a special moment on Thursday with a ribbon cutting ceremony honoring longtime children’s librarian Sally James, who passed away earlier this year.

The community gathered to dedicate the library’s children’s wing in honor of James. She was a lifelong resident of Pass Christian known for her warmth and love of books.

After Hurricane Katrina, James helped the town rebuild by setting up a temporary library in a trailer at War Memorial Park.

James’ dedication inspired everyone around her, leaving an impact that went far beyond the shelves of the library.

The new wing now serves as a lasting reminder of James’ devotion to the community she called home.
