Pass Christian Elementary robotics team heading to State
One Coast school is taking their robotics skills to the next level next month.
Pass Christian Elementary’s Vex Pirate Pride Robotics team won the elementary division robot skills champion award at a Vex Tournament in Gulfport last Saturday which qualifies them for the Vex IQ State Championship next month.
The fifth grade robotics club members learned lifelong skills like teamwork and programming while guiding their robot through timed competition on a Vex course.
Team member Stefen King talked about the excitement of winning their skills award. “It feels great. We’ve been working with Mrs. Bunn and we’ve been like, it’s been fun.”
The team still has over a month to prepare for the state championship, which takes place in Hattiesburg on February 22nd.
