Pass Christian appoints new fire chief at Board of Aldermen meeting.
The City of Pass Christian announced their new fire chief at the Board of Aldermen meeting on April 2nd.
The Pass Christian BOA meeting took place on Tuesday at 6 PM at the City Courthouse.
Residents were in attendance to voice their opinion on certain matters and to see some of the fire chief candidates who were interviewed by the BOA at the last meeting on March 19th.
The candidates for the Pass Christian Fire Chief included Austin Grahm, Racheal Gnau, Brandon Necaise, and Dia’mond Woodman.
Each board member cast a ballot for who they thought was the most qualified and soon after the meeting started it was announced that Dia’mond Woodman would be the city’s next fire chief.
After being named the next fire chief, Woodman, a captain for the Pass Christian Fire Department, spoke about why he believed he was qualified to take the role, and what he plans to do once in charge.
“I’ve given the city many years of service. I’ve worked on my education throughout that time. Pretty much have been very dedicated to this city. I’ve spent most of my time preparing for a higher role. I didn’t expect to be a chief at this early in my career but I’m excited for it. I’m hoping to take what Chief Gordon has built and continue building it and carry it into the future.”)
