Pass Christian alum Dustin Allison fighting for starting QB job at PRCC

Who better to run PRCC’s new-look offense than a guy that can air it out with the best of them?

Pass Christian alum Dustin Allison was a top five passer in the state as a senior in 2019 and his arm has only gotten stronger with a red-shirt year to hit the weight room.

The former News 25 Student Athlete of the Week showed off the cannon during Thursday’s spring game and heads into summer locked into a QB battle with newcome Bryce Wallace. “It was a great competition this spring. We learned a lot. We got the new offense in that Bo implemented, and just to be out here to compete and have a good day going against each other was just fun.”

PRCC Co-Offensive Coordinator Bo Wallace said, “Dustin, he’s got a really strong arm, and he really came in here and I think the first week I was here, he came in on his Christmas break and was diving into the offense, so you can really tell that it’s definitely transitioned onto the field, and he’s had a really good spring.”

PRCC Head Football Coach Seth Smith said, “I mean he’s got as good of an arm as anybody in this league, maybe the country. And that goes for Bryce, both of them, they’re both tremendous leaders, great kids and a lot smarter than me.”

Ever since his days as a Pass Christian Pirate, Allison says his biggest improvements have come from the mental side of the game, both in terms of reading a defense and watching a lot more film.
