Pass Christian alum Cory McGee qualifies for 2020 Tokyo Games

A 22-time track and field state champion out of Pass Christian High School, tonight, Cory McGee was a top three finish away from qualifying for the Olympics for the very first time.

McGee finishing with a time of 4 minutes and 67 hundredths of a second, shaving off more than 11 seconds off her time from the 2016 Olympic trials. “(Cory. Hi. Third Olympic Trials, here you are, what do you think?) Oh, man. They were magic. It’s real. I’ve been working my butt off. I made a big move to Colorado two years ago and haven’t looked back, and that’s why I’m here today.”

The Tokyo Games begin on July 23rd on WXXV on NBC.
