Pascagoula Senior Center holding pottery sale
If one of your loved ones likes keeping handcrafted pottery around the house, you may be able to get some nice surprises this holiday season.
The Pascagoula Senior Center’s residents have been working since March to put on their pottery sale this weekend to earn a little extra Christmas money.
Down in the pottery studio, the seniors get to be social and work on their fine motor skills in addition to being productive.
All products on display are personal creations from residents, eight of whom are represented.
Pascagoula Senior Center Director Mary Cooper is encouraging shoppers in the city to spend their money locally. “Because the tax base — the city of Pascagoula gets tax money from that, and this is tax-supported — here, our senior center is. So, it just keeps Pascagoula money in Pascagoula to benefit our citizens.”
The sale will continue Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
