Pascagoula residents clean up aftermath from Nate
Residents in Jackson County are picking up after Hurricane Nate.
Homeowners in low-lying areas are still drying out the water that rushed in when Nate hit Saturday night. Pascagoula resident Anna Anderson had to delay her vacation to clean up damages left from Nate. Water spilled into her garage and lower level of her home.
Anderson and her husband moved their cars to higher grounds before Nate. “I mean, it was moving pretty fast. There were several big gusts of wind. The trees were just swaying, the stop signs and the street signs were flopping all over the place. If you’re going to live on the Coast that’s just one of the things that you have to deal with down here so just, if you hear that one is coming or potentially coming, just get ready, but we love the water that’s why we live here, but I don’t like it in my house.”
Anderson tells News 25 the damage left from Nate is nothing compared to what was ruined when four feet of water rushed into their home during Hurricane Katrina.
