Pascagoula man charged with sex crimes against juvenile

A Pascagoula man has been charged with sexually assaulting a juvenile and other crimes.

Pascagoula Police arrested 46-year-old Michael Shane Steiner on Wednesday on charges of sexual battery while in a position of trust, child pornography and assault. He was taken to the Jackson County jail. Bond was set at $250,000.

Police say the arrest stemmed from a tip investigators received on March 27 about a possible crime involving a juvenile that happened in the city. Investigators gathered information that led to a search warrant on Wednesday at Steiner’s house that led to his arrest.
