Pascagoula Fire Department hosting Ida supply drive

All kinds of organizations in South Mississippi are doing their part to help Hurricane Ida victims. One of those organizations is the Pascagoula Fire Department.

They’re collecting cleaning items, personal items, and food items. They’re bringing the items to a distribution center in Houma, Louisiana on Friday.

Along with the supplies, Pascagoula fire will be partnering with a BBQ joint to cook food for over 500 first responders. Pascagoula Fire Chief Hyler Krebs said, “This is an absolute. Everyone should be thinking about helping those people out over there. If it was over here, I promise you would be asking for help also. They need it. To me, people are starting to give a whole lot more since Katrina. Let’s all get together and get over there and help them.”

The fire department is also preparing to send firefighters to Louisiana to aid in Ida recovery.
