Pascagoula enacts citywide boil water notice

Pascagoula declared a city-wide boil water advisory.

This morning, a water pump at one of the city’s water treatment facilities was damaged.

At 1:30 p.m., a follow up advisory said the water pump had been repaired and full water pressure should return to all residents in about two hours.

The city reminded citizens, however, that the boil water advisory would remain in effect until a treatment sample comes back clear. Pascagoula City Manager Michael Silverman said, “At this time, just boil your water, be safe, adhere to proper precautions, and the plan is to have the boil water notice lifted no later than by Saturday.”

Citizens can get updates sent directly to their phones by visiting cityofpascagoula.com, scrolling down on the home page, and opting into the city alerts.
