Parking issues in Bay St. Louis
In a city thriving on its growing tourism, Bay St. Louis has few problems, but parking has become one of them.
Residents and businesses in the Bay are noticing a growing problem in traffic and parking issues due mostly to new restaurants in the area. Under the previous city administration, the mayor asked that employees park in the free parking garage, but the wish was not granted.
Local Real Estate Agent Rod Ward says it is not a parking problem, but a walking problem. “I think there could be a little more effort by the shop owners to have the employees park as remotely from the downtown business area as possible. A lot of peoples excuses for not parking there is it seems to be like an element like kids on skateboards and etc., etc., etc.”
Ward wants the community to know that the mayor is making every effort possible to assure that this issue is resolved soon.
