Parade of Athletes at National Veterans Golden Age Games

This week, hundreds of athletes will compete in a variety of sports during the 31st National Veteran Golden Ages Games in Biloxi.
Veterans from each branch of the military proudly represented their residential state during tonight’s Parade of Athletes at the Beau Rivage. The event attracts people from almost every state in the country and even places outside of the United States.
Awards, such as “the Hall of Fame Athlete” and “the Secretary’s Award” were also presented during tonight’s ceremony. Public Affairs Officer Mary K. Gominger said, “We have about 800 athletes that are competing and then we have their family members that are here and then we have had over 1,000 volunteers that are working this. So, it’s just a huge community event.”
