Pair of USM Signees Headline Record-Setting Class for Biloxi

National Signing Day was a record setting occasion for Biloxi High School this year in terms of the number of players signing national letters of intent on the same day.
Sixteen athletes took part in the ceremony, ranging from football to baseball to boys and girls soccer. Headlining the class are three D-1 signees, two of which are heading to Southern Miss together.
Wide receiver Tim Jones and offensive tackle Ethan Myers will be joining the Golden Eagles in the fall and that’s something that hasn’t happened at Biloxi in quite some time.
USM’s all-time leading rusher, Damion Fletcher, was the last Indian to sign with the Black and Gold way back in 2006.
Myers said, “It’s an honor to be able to go to a prestigious school like Southern Miss, and I’m surprised that we’re the first ones ‘cause we’ve had some athletes come through here and I’m just not sure why they haven’t chosen them. It’s a great atmosphere and the coaches are great, and I’m excited to be a part of that.”
Jones said, “Coach Hop, he’s like an everybody type of guy, like he likes everything. Like I mean he’ll teach you everything from football to life lessons to anything you need to know, and I like that about him.”
Biloxi’s other D-1 signee is baseball standout Trey Shaffer who officially inked with Southeastern Louisiana in November.
