Oyster Ball drop in Biloxi
The Maritime and Seafood Museum in Biloxi will drop the Oyster Ball right into 2018 for the third year in a row.
Starting at 8:30 Sunday night until 1 a.m. on New Year’s Day you can join in on the festivities at the museum. Hundreds are expected to come out and see the 32 inch wide Oyster Ball drop down a cable line and into an oyster basket outside of the museum during the countdown to the New Year.
There will also be live music, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $50 per person and $90 per couple. You can call the museum and purchase them. Maritime and Seafood Museum Outreach Program Coordinator Michelle Peterson said, “So this event is an absolute blast. There is a lot of dancing. We are going to have the Black Water Brass Band. That is a great dance band that is here on the Coast. There is going to be a lot of dancing and then everyone, whether you bought a ticket or not, is welcome to go outside and enjoy the fireworks and watch the Oyster Ball drop. So, that’s open to the public, but inside you would want to purchase your ticket and you get all that stuff.”
Inside will be only open to 21 and over, but outside will be a free family event.
